reese is FOUR!

reese was so excited when he woke up on his birthday morning!
he loves doing homework, even on his big day
my happy boy
unfortunately this face appears all too often
i love the excitement in his face
blowing out candles is serious business
last saturday the day came that reese has been aching for since last october 20th. he has asked about his birthday nearly every day. and this one was a major success. when reese was eating breakfast he said, "hey mom! where is everyone??? grandma? bentley? shanea! they are all supposed to be here for my birthday!" haha, he was expecting to party all dang day! so we tried! we let him open up his presents from us first thing in the morning, which he loved and played with all day. then we went to target to get his cake and i let him pick out whatever ice cream he wanted. (fat free chocolate and mint chip which everyone thought tasted like toothpaste! ha!) then party time came! our families all came over and we had pizza. the kids all played outside forever and then we did the presents which reese was the most excited about. then we did the cake, and he was so worried that cace was going to blow out his candles. that explains the very serious look on his face throughout "happy birthday". that night when i put him to bed, i said the prayer and he kept interupting me. "mom, tell heavenly father that i am thankful for my presents, and that everyone sang happy birthday to reese, and for playing with the kids!" he just could not get enough. it was so fun, because it was like this year he finally got it.... for real, he knew what to expect, he knew he was special that day and that everyone wanted him to be happy, and he was! he really enjoyed it all the day.

In the morning, Reese loves to run in Jovi's room and climb in her crib and play for a while.
Brother/sister bonding.
They love to jump on the tramp together, actually Reese runs and Jovi bounces around when he lands... and then they laugh.... laugh... laugh.....
This is how Jovi watches TV. Freaking Hilarious... until she starts crying because she can't get down.
I just wanted to add some pics to the good ol' blog here. My kids are freaking cute and hilarious so I have to just do a little documentation.
i am having a hard time getting going today. maybe i can write it out... sometimes other peoples confidence makes me a little insecure. like, their overwhelming comment just made my confidence plummet. is that weird? another reason i am struggling is i know i have an overwhelming amount of homework to do, and it seems so easy to just blow off. which i usually don't do..... but....
tomorrow is reese's birthday, and i think we are really all excited about it. i need to clean the house and mop the floors, but it seems like the last couple of days all i want to do i just lounge around when my kids are giving me the chance to get things done.  i keep getting headaches too... i hate them.
jovi has been teething for what seems like forever. those little buckies are just about to poke through and i know that once they out she is going to feel so much better. i also know we are going to have to break some bad habits that have started since all of this pain has been going on. she is still the cutest little stinker on the block.
sometimes it just seems like there is so much to do and no time to do it, so why should i even bother. the house is just messy the next day anyway.
but i feel better when i get things done, so i am going to stop complaining and start checking things off of my bummer-of-a-blog-post list.

9 years!!! no way!

This year it was my turn to plan our anniversary. I was so excited! Our families watched our kids so we could get away for a night and it  was honestly one of the best anniversaries we have ever had. After we dropped of the kids we headed out to find something to eat. We settled on Settabello's in Farmington. After that I drove us to our secret get away. We went to Park City, where I had to stop and RUN into Subway or else I was gonna pee my pants! It was actually pretty funny. Then I took Brad to the Utah Olympic Park.

When we arrived in the parking lot Brad wanted to exchange gifts. He opened his first, I finally got the picture of the temple from his mission custom framed for him. It seemed a little cheesy, but he really loved it. I think he had kind of forgotten about it, so it was kind of special. Then it was my turn, I had a feeling Brad was going big this year, but I wasn't quite sure what it was going to be. Well, I guessed right that it was big! He bought me a really amazing camera. Not just a point and shoot. It's an SLR, but it's more of a pocket sized SLR. I really LOVE IT!

We bought tickets to go on the long zip line. It was totally scary at first but so fun. I screamed at first (as usual). But the ride down was beautiful. While we were chatting with some people in line, a guy gave Brad a coupon to do the bobsled for free. So we walked back and Brad did it.
Brad said it was super intense. Even though you only go down for about a minute, you go about 4G's and he was a little wobbly after that.

When we were done there, we decided to go check into our hotel. I had Brad read me the directions, he had no idea where we were going. When we pulled up our conversation went like this:

Brad: Are we staying here?
Sav: That would be the Waldorf Astoria.
Brad: Holy Shit! No way! Are you freaking KIDDING ME? .... Holy Shit.....

It was pretty hysterical. We went to our room and checked it all out and then decided to get in our suits and go swimming. It was a beautiful day. Usually on our anniversary it snows for the first time in the mountains (no joke), this has happened several times. But this weekend was gorgeous! We ended up just laying out by the pool and taking a little happy nappy.

After relaxing for a while, I had one more surprise for Brad. I wanted to take him to the outlets to get some new clothes. The boy was desperate. We ate dinner at Kneaders (which BTW the soup was to die for). Brad ended up getting some sweet clothes, and I finally splurged and got myself some Vans. Then we ran to Wal-mart to get some snacks. When we got back to our hotel we went and sat in the hot tub for a while. It was amazing. We stayed up late and slept in and it was wonderful.

The next morning we got ready (i took a bath in the awesome tub), and we went to the farmers market on Main Street. It was nice to not feel rushed to get right back home. We walked up and down the street, bought a few random things and held hands. It was almost sad because it was such a wonderful weekend and it had to end. I was excited to see my babies though!

Later in the week, on our real anniversary, we took our kids with us and went out to eat at Red Robin, and then of course, that night, we read our Ten Things to one another. I love my Bradley so much and I am so glad we have made it this far!
