9 years!!! no way!

This year it was my turn to plan our anniversary. I was so excited! Our families watched our kids so we could get away for a night and it  was honestly one of the best anniversaries we have ever had. After we dropped of the kids we headed out to find something to eat. We settled on Settabello's in Farmington. After that I drove us to our secret get away. We went to Park City, where I had to stop and RUN into Subway or else I was gonna pee my pants! It was actually pretty funny. Then I took Brad to the Utah Olympic Park.

When we arrived in the parking lot Brad wanted to exchange gifts. He opened his first, I finally got the picture of the temple from his mission custom framed for him. It seemed a little cheesy, but he really loved it. I think he had kind of forgotten about it, so it was kind of special. Then it was my turn, I had a feeling Brad was going big this year, but I wasn't quite sure what it was going to be. Well, I guessed right that it was big! He bought me a really amazing camera. Not just a point and shoot. It's an SLR, but it's more of a pocket sized SLR. I really LOVE IT!

We bought tickets to go on the long zip line. It was totally scary at first but so fun. I screamed at first (as usual). But the ride down was beautiful. While we were chatting with some people in line, a guy gave Brad a coupon to do the bobsled for free. So we walked back and Brad did it.
Brad said it was super intense. Even though you only go down for about a minute, you go about 4G's and he was a little wobbly after that.

When we were done there, we decided to go check into our hotel. I had Brad read me the directions, he had no idea where we were going. When we pulled up our conversation went like this:

Brad: Are we staying here?
Sav: That would be the Waldorf Astoria.
Brad: Holy Shit! No way! Are you freaking KIDDING ME? .... Holy Shit.....

It was pretty hysterical. We went to our room and checked it all out and then decided to get in our suits and go swimming. It was a beautiful day. Usually on our anniversary it snows for the first time in the mountains (no joke), this has happened several times. But this weekend was gorgeous! We ended up just laying out by the pool and taking a little happy nappy.

After relaxing for a while, I had one more surprise for Brad. I wanted to take him to the outlets to get some new clothes. The boy was desperate. We ate dinner at Kneaders (which BTW the soup was to die for). Brad ended up getting some sweet clothes, and I finally splurged and got myself some Vans. Then we ran to Wal-mart to get some snacks. When we got back to our hotel we went and sat in the hot tub for a while. It was amazing. We stayed up late and slept in and it was wonderful.

The next morning we got ready (i took a bath in the awesome tub), and we went to the farmers market on Main Street. It was nice to not feel rushed to get right back home. We walked up and down the street, bought a few random things and held hands. It was almost sad because it was such a wonderful weekend and it had to end. I was excited to see my babies though!

Later in the week, on our real anniversary, we took our kids with us and went out to eat at Red Robin, and then of course, that night, we read our Ten Things to one another. I love my Bradley so much and I am so glad we have made it this far!

six years together

we celebrated our sixth anniversary this week. It was nice to get away for a little bit since things have been so crazy around here lately. a couple of months ago brad won a stay at the homestead resort in midway on the radio. we were pumped because we didn't have to pay for a room or for dinner that night. it was pretty awesome. we dropped reese off at my parents house in the afternoon, and went to noodles & co. for a little lunch. it had been forever since we had eaten there and once in a while i love it. then we went to the gateway (like old times), the thing is that i am too cheap these days to ever get anything there. it is WAY too expensive. we still had fun though, brad got a new shirt and i got a chocolate dipped cone from dairy queen.. mmm...
moving on:
we headed up to midway, and checked in. our room was cute. not anything too special, but cute. then we went and ate at fanny's grill that is at the resort, when brad won the stay he also won a free dinner. so we both got steak and drinks and dessert for FREE. it was awesome. then we went back to our room and watched the office. our room was freezing and we didn't have much to do so we decided to head into town and went to mcdonalds for some hot chooolate and we rented monsters vs. aliens. i totally fell asleep while we watched it. going to mcdonalds was the funnest part of the night. we laughed alot and there was some crazy dude there.
the next day we went and checked out the crater. we didn't swim cause #1 we forgot our swim suits and #2 it was $11/person for 30 minutes.. i thought that was a little pricey. so we headed off to park city and went to the outlets. we got reese some winter clothes because the poor kid only had two pairs of pants. it was really fun shopping around and finding good deals together. and acutally it was really nice to have a break from reese and not have to worry about him at all. then we went to slc and ate at taco time and went up in the avenues and looked at all the houses we want to buy. that is one of our favorite things to do, dream about all the old houses we can buy that are on the perfect tree shaded street. mmm.. i love it. then we headed home to get our baby boy. by the time we got there i was getting a little anxious to see him. it was so nice to get away on a little vacation. i love spending time with just brad and me alone.
we also did our usual tradition and read our ten things about the year to one another with a kiss between each one. that is my favorite tradition that we have created together, and the best part is that we haven't missed one year.
we gave each other our gifts on sunday (which was our actual anniversary). i gave brad the office season 5 and he got me a typewriter!!!!!!!!! i love it.
happy anniversary my love. you are my favorite and i love being your babus.

five fabulous years

it's now been five years since brad and i tied the knot, can you believe it? our anniversary was last saturday september 27th. we didn't get to celebrate that day because we spent ALL day moving into our new house! yay! i think it's the greatest present that we have got! so we decided to celebrate last night instead, we went out to salt lake and ate at macaroni grill (somewhat of a tradition), then we came home and exchanged gifts. usually we do something really big like go to a bed and breakfast and some fun activity, but since i am nine months pregnant and brad is still recovering from his surgery we decided we would put it off this year, and because we have a house! we already have all the privacy that the B & B would offer... anyway, brad presented me with a gift certificate for an 80 minute mother to be massage! HEAVEN! i guess i have been complaining enough about my body hurting that he decided to go all out. i gave brad the new jack's mannequin cd and stuffed inside the case i decided to make up for the lack of a get away trip by getting him tickets to see coldplay. he was totally psyched and almost couldn't believe it. i love it when i am able to really surprise that boy. also every year we each make a list of ten things that we remember about the last year. some are romantic, some are just funny silly things that we remember, we each take turns reading our list and remembering how much fun the last year has been from eachother's point of view. i truly have a wonderful husband and i am grateful for him every day.
