We went to the state fair this week. SERIOUSLY, my it is one of my favorite things. we have only ever missed going when i am huge prego. This year shanea came with us. We did our favorite things like little hands on the farm, ate all the crazy deep fried food, checked out the animals, rode a single ride, bought crap from the stands and of course went on the big yellow slide. When we took reese to the fair when he was 11 months old he LOVED the slide, he smiled and laughed the whole way down. Jovi did not. she handled it, but at the bottom she burst out bawling... she is so like me. scared. and that's ok. Reese and i went down again together...

wave in the night

last night jovi melted my heart. she has been waking up in the night very frequently, and it gets a little frustrating some times. last night she woke up and i went to give her a binky, she immediately spit it out and started to cry as i left the room. i waited just a second and went back in, she was on her knees at the end of the crib. i wrapped her in her blankie and laid her on her side. i told her it was time to go back to sleep. she looked up at me, pulled that chubby little arm out of the covers and waved at me until i closed the door. then she went right to sleep.
it was a small moment, but so precious to her momma.

Hey big Pre-schooler! I love you SO much! I am so glad you are my boy. I love it that you want to lay on me when we watch movies. I love that you are the BEST big brother out there. You love Jovi with all of your heart and love to take care of her and keep her safe. You love your friends, and "pop-soles" (popsicles), playing with your friends and especially PS3 games.

You are growing up fast and becoming concerned about things of the world. We read The Lion King together, afterward you were worried that someone might want to come and kill your dad. We talked for a long time about how things like that hardly ever happen and that we have Uncle Bryce to protect him. :)
You also worry about your best friend Ethan, because I told you that he will be moving away soon. You asked if we could call him (of course), and then in your sweet innocent sad voice you asked if we could move too. I am grateful that you care about others in your life. You are so special to me. upside down baby

i just thought i would do a little update on our little miss jovi may. she may be the sweetest baby ever! she is nine months old and full of personality. she loves to be upside down still. she learned how to crawl a couple of weeks ago, she skipped the whole scooting stage and just decided to get at it. earlier that week she started to wave when someone said "hi" to her and has been doing it ever since. she is also a big fan of clapping and saying "yay jovi!", she laughs and claps. she also loves big brother to the moon. they really are best friends. she will sit in her chair and watch Yo Gabba Gabba. it totally keeps her attention when i am trying to do something productive. she also stands up in her crib and babbles "dadada" all the time, but especially when she sees daddy. she also seems to be sick all the time. if it isn't an ear infection it is the flu or a tooth coming in or a cold. maybe a week goes by and something else comes up. i feel like a crazy mom because i take her to the doctor all the time. but better safe than sorry. it seems like in the last month she has grown up so much. she is a hoot and makes us laugh every single day.

reese loves to get out of the bathtub and lay on the floor. he pretends he is a dinosaur or a rock or a turtle and i have to come and step on whatever it is he is that day. he is a funny honey. 

i have been giving jovi most of her baths in the sink. it's just so much easier! she splashes like a mad woman.

 this was the first time jovi pulled herself up from laying down to sitting. she was pretty pleased with herself. YAY JOVI!

this was the morning of the spartan race. brad and his brothers all ran it. 13 miles and 25 obstocales. they finished in about 4 hours and brad almost died. but he signed up for next year... good luck with that! is all i have to say.
